Georgetown Democracy Initiative

Aanika Veedon (SFS'26) is a democracy fellow at the Georgetown Democracy Initiative. She is a senior in the School of Foreign Service where she is majoring in international politics with a certificate in Asian studies. Her interests involve great-power competition, the U.S. industrial base, and the role of democratic resilience in an evolving global order. She is part of the U.S.-China Student Dialogue through the Initiative for U.S.-China Dialogue on Global Issues and recently traveled to Beijing and Hong Kong to engage in a Track II diplomatic dialogue. Aanika has held internships at the U.S. Department of State, the Council on Foreign Relations, and Ernst and Young’s Government and Public Sector Practice. She is a proud New Yorker and in her spare time enjoys cycling, traveling, and film photography.
