Call for Applications for Fall 2025 Democracy Fellows
The Georgetown Democracy Initiative at Georgetown University coordinates and fosters the generation of new, actionable knowledge about democracy in the United States and around the globe. It serves as a platform to disseminate that knowledge and contributes to the development of strategies to address democracy’s erosion. As Democracy Fellows, students will support the work of the initiative in a variety of capacities.
Position Description
Duties:
- Assist with information-gathering on ongoing work on democracy at Georgetown University
- Assist with identifying and analyzing related projects and initiatives at other universities in the United States
- Assist with events and activities during fall 2025
- Assist with creating website content
- Assist with other administrative tasks as necessary
Term: September 8 to December 5, 2025, with the potential for reappointment
Hours: 8-10 hours/week
Work location: Hybrid; RAs must attend one virtual meeting each week.
Eligibility: Georgetown undergraduate and graduate students
Compensation:
- Undergraduates – $17.95/hr
- Graduate students – $23.34/hr

- Majoring in or focusing on government or international affairs
- Demonstrated interest in/knowledge of democracy
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Demonstrated professionalism
- Demonstrated research skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to do outstanding work as part of a team and independently
